About Us

about us

Makikita Quykuway means “Give me your hand” in Quechua, the ancient language of the Incas. Guided by this principle, our organization has brought together a network of compassionate social services professionals dedicated to improving the lives of the underprivileged in Peru.

Makikita Quykuway Volunteer Program is a non-profit organization located in Huancayo, Peru. Our volunteer organization was established in 2006 and is recognized as a non-profit legal entity by the Peruvian government. Makikita Quykuway works closely with relevant non-profit organizations, government institutions, and foreign volunteers to improve the lives of local underserved Peruvians.

Our Vision

We envision a just world based on unity, respect and love, where children have equal opportunities for personal and professional development.

Our Mission

Makikita Quykuway’s mission is to improve the quality of life of the poorest people in Peru. To fulfill this mission, we support local non-profit organizations and also utilize foreign volunteer workers´ skills and talents. To best utilize our volunteer workers to their full capacities, our organization supports volunteer workers´ personal growth, professional development, and cultural immersion.

Our Aims

  • Provide a safe and happy childhood to Peru’s children, regardless of social status.
  • Help orphans, underserved children, and impoverished teenagers build lasting professional skills to improve their lives.
  • Offer basic health care and information about preventable diseases to those who otherwise would not have access to this information.
  • Facilitate foreign volunteers’ personal and professional growth through cultural immersion and meaningful volunteer assignments.
