Accommodations

Makikita Quykuway Volunteer Program offers clean and safe accommodations to its volunteers. Volunteers can choose between our Volunteer House and a family stay. Volunteers can also arrange their own accommodation if they prefer.

Volunteer House

The Volunteer House is situated in a secure and pleasant area. The Volunteer House is only a 10 minute walk from the center of Huancayo and is furnished with internet access.

Near the volunteer house you will find a supermarket, a street market (Thursdays and Sundays) with local products and crafts, public transportation, cheap internet cafes, and a variety of local restaurants.

The accommodation fee includes:

  • Comfortable private room with a double bed
  • Bathroom with a hot shower
  • Common living space with a TV, comfy chairs, and a dining room table
  • Kitchen with cooking amenities and utensils for meal preparation
  • Information about recommended restaurants
  • Wifi

Family Stay

The Family stay option is available for those who wish to fully immerse themselves in the Peruvian culture and to practice Spanish through living with a local family. Volunteers have private bedrooms but share other facilities, such as a bathroom and common living areas, with the rest of the family.

Makikita Quykuway guest families are carefully chosen and monitored through regular inspections and volunteer feedback. Most of the families are located within a short distance of central Huancayo.

The guest family fee per month includes two meals a day from Monday to Saturday. Vegetarian options are available upon request.
