Makikita Quykuway Volunteer Program offers clean and safe accommodation to its volunteers. Volunteers can choose between our Volunteer House and a family stay. Volunteers can also arrange their own accommodation if they prefer.
The Volunteer House has is situated in a secure and pleasant area, only 10 minutes walk from the center of Huancayo.
Near the volunteer house you can find a supermarket, an open air market (Thursday and Sunday) with local products and crafts, cheap internet cafes and a good range of excellent restaurants.
The accommodation fee includes:
- Comfortable private room with a double bed
- Cozy shared rooms
- Bathroom with a hot shower
- Common area with a TV, comfy chairs, and a dining table
- Kitchen with cooking amenities and utensils for meal preparation
- Information about recommended restaurants
The Family stay option is available for those who wish to fully immerse themselves in the Peruvian culture and practice Spanish through living together with a local family. Volunteers have their own private bedrooms but share other facilities, such as a bathroom and common living areas, with rest of the family.
Makikita Quykuway guest families are carefully chosen and monitored through regular inspections and volunteer feedback. Most of the families are located within a short distance of central Huancayo.
The guest family fee per month includes three meals a day from Monday to Saturday. Vegetarian options are available upon request.
