Kiras Review Huancayo
An unforgettable experience!
One and a half months I was volunteering at Makikita (nov/dec 2017). Juliana is an adorable person and cares a lot about your wellbeing. I was helping in the public school and the Makikita Community. The kids at the Community were very nice, they really appreciated my stay. I helped them with their homeworks, taught some english and played games. In the public school I held english lessons in different classes. The education system is totally different to my country, that made it sometimes hard to teach, but it was definitely a good experience and interesting for me to see.
Also the teachers were nice.
But not only the school-experience is worth it to do voluntary work in Makikita, there are also a lot of tours you can make at the weekends, so you get to know more about the region and Peru’s landscape.
Personally it took me some time to get used to some cultural differences, however the people’s friendliness gave me a welcoming feeling that helped a lot, for this reason I really enjoyed my stay.
